Inside cover: This volume was found in the law library of Cortlandt Parker, deceased, died July 1907. Presented to the New Jersey Historical Society by his son, Charles W. Parker, May 1916. Names of the original compiler of these law notes not known. The following are possibilities: Cortlandt Skinner, attorney general of New Jersey, too early; Perhaps Richard M. Stites who d. Savannah aboaut 1814 or his son Richard Wayne Stites d. Morristown, NJ, father of Mrs. Cortlandt Parker. It is not James Parker d. 1868 & I think not his father James, d. 1797, nor his father John Parker who was admitted to the bar. (signed) Chas. W. Parker
