Pacifism and the American Civil Rights Movement: A Recognition of the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom

March on Washington Leaflet

Fifty years ago, on August 28th, 1963, more than 250,000 people gathered peacefully on the Mall in Washington, D.C., to demand more jobs and meaningful Civil Rights legislation to benefit all Americans, regardless of race. The event is recorded as the largest peaceful political gathering in U.S. history, up to that point. This exhibit recognizes the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.
