Abatement. A writ is always amendable where there is only an error in form and where it may be amended and made good consistent with the truth of the facts, as if a writ dated on the 15th of the month and the 14th was the last day of service, and the writ was actually served the 14th, but dated the 15th through mistake; of if a man be called by the wrong name.
